Leisa has a Communications and Sociology degree and lives is Brisbane, Australia with her husband and son and daughter.

As the mother of two premature babies, it was the hospital staff who first chose to give Daniel and Sophie dummies/pacifiers to help them improve their sucking ability. Leisa loved having a dummy as a go to when her children had big emotions and Leisa wanted to remove her sons dummy in a calm manner by age 2 years. After surveying parents, she realised that many parents felt desperate and often blamed the dog. So Leisa chose to publish the children's picture book, " Daniel and the Dummy Fairy" to help parents ditch their dummies is a less stressful way.
